Teleperformance to acquire Majorel and return to world number 1
BPO and outsourced customer experience definitely looks like huge department store... where something is always happening. Just a few weeks after the announcement of a planned merger between Concentrix and Webhelp, a merger that has not yet been confirmed, Daniel Julien, the founder of Teleperformance, announced his plan to acquire Majorel, for 3 billion euros.
Majorel's majority shareholders, Bertelsmann Luxembourg and the Saham Group, have irrevocably committed to tender their Majorel shares to the offer.
The new group will create a consolidated group of 12 billion euros in BPO and digital services related to customer experience, but also to moderation. Majorel, for its part, had considered a merger with Sitel more than a year ago, but this did not come to fruition. The company is known for its quality of service delivery and has, for example, taken over the contact centres of Booking.com, as mentioned here.
A teleconference will be held today at 2pm, hosted by the President of Teleperformance.
